Indian Football Has Hit Rock Bottom – And Still Keeps Digging
Indian football has reached a new low. From failing in an easy World Cup group to crashing out of the Asian Cup — this is a national sporting disgrace.
Failing to qualify for the next round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers from what was considered an easy group is already a massive embarrassment. But for us Indian football fans, hope was still alive — we turned our gaze to the AFC Asian Cup, praying for redemption, expecting at least a spirited run in the continent’s biggest stage. Now, that dream lies in shambles. Failing to qualify for even the AFC Asian Cup is not just disappointing — it's a complete disgrace.

What excuse do we hide behind now? They were handed one of the easiest groups on paper. And still, as if by some cursed ritual, they managed to bottle it. Drawing and losing against teams ranked between 130 and 160, nations with a fraction of our population, resources, and infrastructure. Meanwhile, our ranking has plummeted to 133 — and rest assured, it will only go lower. Truth be told, we deserve it. Adbhut Brand Studio | Utsav

This is no longer just about poor performances on the pitch. The rot runs deep — right up to the top. The AIFF is a circus run by corrupt, clueless men in suits who know nothing about football and care even less. Kalyan Chaubey and his band of money-hungry, infighting cronies have turned Indian football into their personal playground. Their incompetence is staggering, their apathy infuriating.

The players on the field are no better — passionless, tactically brain-dead, and utterly unworthy of wearing the national jersey. While fans beg for Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to bolster the team with actual quality, the federation stays silent. Social media is exploding with rage, hashtags like #AIFFOut, #SaveIndianFootball, and #ChaubeyResign are trending across Twitter, Instagram, and fan forums — but will the people in charge listen? Of course not. Adbhut Brand Studio | Utsav

Indian football didn’t just lose today. It died a slow, agonizing death. The final nail has been hammered in. Unless something radically changes — new leadership, better grassroots, inclusion of OCIs, transparency in governance — the future will be nothing but a rerun of this failure. Until then, the fans will keep shouting into the void, while the system rots from within.
