Chitrangda Singh Opens Up About Mobbed Celebrities
Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh has spoken out on mobbing incidents at public events, calling them “scary” and urging stricter crowd control to protect actors from dangerous situations.
Bollywood actress Chitrangda Singh has raised a crucial concern about mobbing incidents at public events, a problem several actors have faced recently. Reacting to viral videos showing Nidhhi Agerwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu being overwhelmed by crowds, Singh called the issue “very serious” and warned that such situations can quickly spiral out of control. Speaking candidly to Hindustan Times, she said, “Some of these events can really get out of hand because you have to be able to control the crowd. I was looking at those visuals with Nidhhi, and it was scary to see that.”

Chitrangda didn’t hold back her questions about event safety. She expressed concern over how such incidents are managed and whether adequate measures are in place to protect actors. “It’s probably the duty of the agencies that are managing them to make sure they are safe. But that was scary. I don’t know how can they put them in that space. How could they let them go, how could this happen to them?" she asked, highlighting the urgent need for stricter crowd management protocols. Adbhut Brand Studio | Utsav

Recalling her own encounters with aggressive crowds, Singh shared memories from Dahi Handi events that took a frightening turn. “Even on these Dahi Handi events, I remember 2-3 times it happened, they started banging our car and it just gets out of hand because they have this proximity to an actor and suddenly they have access. I was very scared," she said. Singh pointed out how sudden access to fans can blur boundaries, turning admiration into dangerous situations.

She also narrated a terrifying incident during a college promotion for the film I, Me Aur Main in Delhi. Singh described how the crowd became uncontrollable in moments, forcing her and co-star John Abraham to navigate a chaotic exit. “John tried to protect me and guide me to the car. As soon as we sat in the car, John took off his shirt and his whole back was full of scratch marks," she recalled. Singh emphasized that mobbing is not gender-specific, noting that even John bore the brunt of the frenzy while ensuring her safety.

On the professional front, Chitrangda Singh was last seen in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders and will soon share the screen with Salman Khan in Battle of Galwan, releasing on April 17, 2026. With her candid revelations, Singh not only highlights the unseen risks actors face but also underscores the urgent need for safer public interactions, reminding fans that excitement should never come at the cost of safety.
